Youth Voices Community
We are a refugee-led organization dedicated to raising awareness of the experiences of refugee communities while fostering their self-reliance and empowerment.

Who We Are.
We are a refugee-led organization committed to raising awareness of the experiences of refugee communities while fostering their self-reliance.
YVC engages communities and collaborates with partners to give voice to the vulnerable.
Key Features
We focus on ensuring access to education for all, particularly refugee and local youth, believing that an educated Person can become a hero who transforms their community by addressing its challenges.
Educate
YVC assists primary refugee students who face challenges in paying their school levies by covering their levies as we educate the large community in Languages to hasten integration and ease of communicating when interacting with the host community.
Advocate
YVC runs the Future With Wakimbizi Campaign (Raising voices for urban refugees) a data-driven advocacy campaign based in Uganda and Kenya respectively. It seeks to provide future-facing refugee-led solutions for urban refugees on needs/challenges.
Empower
YVC conducts vocational training programs that equip refugees with essential skills, including business and financial literacy, as well as digital skills and mental health support awareness. We are also actively developing an e-commerce platform called REDUKA.
Education and Training
For years, we have collaborated with Non-Governmental Organizations supporting refugees to offer empowerment and educational opportunities to both refugees and local communities. Our collaboration has focused on empowering youth by providing access to quality education and essential resources.
Advocacy
Youth Voices Community has been at the forefront of addressing challenges faced by refugees and local Kenyans through impactful campaigns, training programs, advocacy efforts, and strategic stakeholder engagements. By collaborating with leading organizations such as the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Education IRC, and the United Nations, we amplify voices and drive meaningful change within communities.
Talent Exposure
Each year, we host a series of events within our organization, including our flagship end-of-year event, Youths on the Move, launched in 2018. This initiative aims to celebrate women and youth who have made a positive impact on their communities. By sharing their inspiring stories, the event highlights their persistence, dedication, and contributions to community development.
Impactful Groups
One of the groups that benefited from the grant is Tuinuane Self-Help Group, which received a check from the CEO of Youth Voices Community to support its growth. The grant is designed to empower members through business ventures and skill development, contributing to a broader effort to uplift refugee community groups in Kenya. Each group that participates in training at YVC becomes a success story, positively impacting the community.

As the CEO of Youth Voices Community, I am incredibly proud of the positive impact we have made in the lives of so many individuals and communities. Our mission is to empower youth, particularly refugees, by providing them with the tools, skills, and opportunities to thrive. Witnessing the growth and transformation of those we support has been nothing short of inspiring. At Youth Voices Community, we believe in the power of education, advocacy, and community building to create lasting change.
Partners
Our partners are organizations and individuals who share our vision of empowering refugee and youth communities. Through their collaboration, support, and resources, we are able to expand our reach, enhance our programs, and create meaningful, lasting change for the communities we serve. Together, we drive impact and build a brighter future.
